Glen Eden Tennis Club is holding its annual LOVE TENNIS Open Day on Sunday 13 September, from 10.00am to 2.00pm, at 42 Glendale Road, Glen Eden. It is free and everyone is welcome, whatever your age and whatever your ability.
The club has spare rackets and tennis balls ready to go, and their coaches will be on court to hit a few balls, offer a tip or two and help you find your feet. Turn up in whatever you can move in, and you are sorted.
There is a bit of fun on the side as well. Free Little Lato Gelato giveaways, prizes on court through the day, and a competition where you can enter the draw to win tickets to the ASB Classic in January 2027. Parking is easy too, with spaces at the club plus the Harold Moody carpark next door, so bringing the whole whānau is straightforward.
The open day is also the club’s way of saying hello to new and returning juniors ahead of Term 4. Junior Coached Tennis starts on Wednesday 14 October, and Sunday is a low-pressure way for tamariki to try the game before signing up. Enquiries about Junior Coached Tennis can go to Anne at kiwinightingale@gmail.com or Raema at spingles63@gmail.com.
So wander down to Glendale Road on Sunday. Have a hit, grab a gelato, and see what your local club is all about.
Glen Eden Tennis Club does not have a website listed, so for more information or to ask about Junior Coached Tennis, contact Anne at kiwinightingale@gmail.com or Raema at spingles63@gmail.com, or look up the club’s Facebook page.
