Swanson Playcentre once again proved why it remains such a beloved cornerstone of their West Auckland community when they hosted their recent Community Day reflecting the welcoming spirit of Swanson.

The event was the latest in the Playcentre’s long tradition of providing a nurturing, community-led space for tamariki and their whānau.

The Trusts were proud to stand alongside Swanson Playcentre, contributing $250 worth of Trusts Gift Cards used as prizes throughout the day, alongside the free loan of two gazebos valued at $350 to save the Playcentre significant hireage costs, ensuring guests could enjoy comfortable, sheltered spaces throughout the day.

Thanks to a grant from the Your West Support Fund, Oratia Bowling Club has upgraded its irrigation system, helping keep the green in top condition year-round.

Club Manager Natalie Stone says the artificial green has been transformative. ‘The new green is an integral part of the club and café. It helps form a social hub, allowing people to meet their neighbours, attend events like quiz nights, market days, Friday social evenings, and, of course, play bowls informally or competitively.

Now is the perfect time to drop in, have a go, and see what makes OBC a local favourite.
