    Could you be Bethells Beachs next surf lifeguard? 🌊

The crew at Bethells Beach Surf Life Saving Patrol are on the lookout for volunteers for the 2026/2027 summer season, and theyd love you to join them. Whether youre a teen, a parent, or somewhere in your 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond, theres a place for you on patrol. No need to be a competitive athlete, just keen to learn and look after one of Aotearoas busiest rescue beaches.

Youll pick up real qualifications, find new ways to enjoy the surf, and become part of a welcoming team that genuinely loves what they do.

Training kicks off term three on Thursday nights, 6:30–8:30pm at West Wave, Henderson. Spaces fill fast.

    Calling all whānau in The West! The Graeme Dingle Foundation has launched Move Mountains for Youth, a nationwide challenge inspired by Sir Graeme Dingles legendary mountain adventures. 

Walk, run, climb, bike or move your own way, and every kilometre helps support tamariki and rangatahi across Aotearoa to build confidence, resilience and self-belief. Whether youre tackling the Waitākere Ranges or just clocking laps around the block, every step counts. Sign up, take on a challenge, or donate to a participant at movemountains.co.nz.
