Twelve local moments of need received support from The Trusts in June, ranging from gift cards for a quiz night fundraiser to bucket hats for 200 rangatahi and a room full of donated office furniture.
Waitākere Grey Power Association received gift cards for their June fundraiser, supporting the ongoing work they do for older West Aucklanders from their Te Atatū South base. North West Toy Library got gift card support for their community gala, helping keep this well-loved resource accessible to West Auckland families.
Zeal West received 200 bucket hats for the Big Photo Scavenger Hunt, which sent rangatahi navigating West Auckland by public transport across a series of challenges designed to build teamwork, confidence and community knowledge. Good hats for a big day out.
Gift cards also went to Northwest Guides and Rangers (for activities and uniforms across Waitakere, Hobsonville, Te Onekiritea and Helensville), Suburbs Rugby Football Club (club fundraising), Te Atatū Tennis Club (quiz night fundraiser), Henderson Rotary (charity luncheon), Oratia United Football Club (prizegiving prizes), and Henderson Valley School PTA (school activities throughout the year).
Corban Estate Arts Centre received a product donation from Trade for an exhibition opening, continuing a long-standing relationship with one of The West’s most important arts venues.
At the larger end, two Visionwest programmes received support. Visionwest’s Ōhinga Tū youth support programme received office furniture for their new facility. And MPHS Community Trust received donated office furniture no longer required following a relocation — $3,200 worth of quality equipment that would otherwise have been disposed of, now going to community organisations at no cost.
