There’s a portrait exhibition opening in Titirangi this month, and the artists behind it are all under nine years old.
Seven and eight year olds from Titirangi Primary School have been sketching well-known Titirangi locals, and the finished works go on display at The Crafty Baker cafe in Titirangi from Tuesday 28 July. The opening kicks off at 3.30pm with drinks and nibbles for the grown-ups, and Mr Whippy on hand to keep the tamariki happy. The exhibition then runs throughout August, so there’s plenty of time to swing by and take a look.
If you’re in Titirangi over August, pop in for a coffee and have a wander through the exhibition. You might just spot someone you recognise, rendered in pencil and pure primary school enthusiasm.
And if the kids are reading this, ka mau te wehi. Titirangi is lucky to have you.
