From five-year-olds learning their first passes to premier players competing at the top of the game, Netball Waitākere brings more than 7,500 Westies together through netball every year.
Now The Trusts is continuing its long-standing support for the organisation by renewing the naming rights sponsorship of the 2027 Premier Competition.
The competition is the top level of women’s club netball in the West, bringing together 12 teams across two divisions for Wednesday night games from April through August. Matches are also livestreamed, taking the action to supporters across the nation and internationally.
Beyond the premier grade, Netball Waitākere delivers programmes for all ages and abilities, including walking netball for older players and an all-access disability programme for children with additional needs.
Netball Waitākere General Manager Murray Gardiner says the partnership reflects a shared commitment to community sport across West Auckland.
“Our relationship with The Trusts goes back many years, and we really appreciate the support they’ve given us to help deliver netball to the community,” says Gardiner.
“It’s really important to us that netball is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability or background. That focus on community, equity and inclusion is something we share with The Trusts, so it’s great to have their support behind our Premier Competition in 2027.”
Netball Waitākere has continued to grow year-on-year since COVID, with particularly strong growth among secondary school players and more boys taking up the sport.
“Netball Waitākere does an incredible job of bringing people together across the West, and we’ve been proud to support their work for many years,” says The Trusts CEO Allan Pollard. “We’re excited to take that support a step further and continue backing an organisation that creates opportunities for thousands of people across our community.”
The Trusts 2027 Premier Competition will run on Wednesday evenings from April to August.
