Rest, healing and nervous system support shouldn’t be limited by what someone can afford. That’s the belief driving the team at MindfulWell Collective | Wāhine Hauora, and it’s the thinking behind their new MindfulWell Community Scholarship.

The kaupapa is simple. Three scholarship places are being offered for MindfulWell’s upcoming Nervous System Rewire Mini Retreat, held on Thursday 7 August from 5–8pm at Kula in Muriwai. The retreat is designed for wāhine who are feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their bodies, and includes somatic practices, breathwork, restorative yoga, and practical tools for lasting nervous system regulation.

In their own words, the MindfulWell team explain the thinking: “We know that the women who often need this kind of space the most are the ones least able to prioritise themselves, financially or otherwise. The MindfulWell Community Scholarship is one small way we’re working to change that, and it’s something we hope to offer at every retreat and workshop we run going forward.”

Applications are open to wāhine who would genuinely benefit from the experience. To apply, email team@mindfulwell.co.nz with your name and a brief note on your circumstances. Applications close 3 August, or once all three places are filled. All enquiries are held with confidentiality and care.

The scholarship itself is made possible through the ongoing support of the MindfulWell Charitable Trust, which is dedicated to community mental health and wellbeing across The West.

MindfulWell is a small operation doing thoughtful work, and this scholarship is a genuine reflection of the values behind their mahi. It’s the kind of grassroots, community-led wellbeing support that makes a real difference in The West.
