In November 2025, the Titirangi Residents and Ratepayers Association united the community for a long‑awaited milestone, the official reopening of Paturoa Road. What unfolded marked the close of a challenging chapter for local residents and the beginning of renewed connection, safety, and resilience for the Titirangi Beach community.

Paturoa Road had been severely damaged during the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods in January 2023, with further destruction caused by Cyclone Gabrielle just weeks later. Slips, structural instability, and widespread infrastructure failure rendered the road unsafe, cutting off a vital access route and deeply affecting the daily lives of those who depend on it.

To celebrate its long‑anticipated reopening, residents, community leaders, supporters, and families gathered at the Titirangi Beach Community Hall for a vibrant community festival. The day featured a ribbon‑cutting ceremony, tree planting, a karakia, live music, food trucks, children’s entertainment, and even a visit from the local fire truck, a joyful reflection of the community’s spirit and strength.

Iti, through The Trusts Supporters Club Programme and alongside other community sponsors, was proud to help bring this celebration to life. Their support played a meaningful role in reconnecting the neighbourhood and honouring the resilience shown throughout the road’s closure.

The reopening of Paturoa Road represents the return of stability, connection, and hope. If your organisation/group has an initiative that could benefit from community funding, or if your team is looking for that extra edge, visit our Supporters Club Donations page to learn more and apply.
