The Titirangi Tennis & Squash Club D Grade Ladies have just come home from Wellington, where they spent a week representing their club, their suburb and The West at the Squash New Zealand D Grade SuperChamps Nationals. Seven Titirangi players made the trip south, including four juniors!
The team played some incredibly close matches, picked up plenty of valuable court experience and, by all accounts, had a very good time doing it. One of their junior players also hit a major personal milestone during the tournament, moving up into C Grade.
The Trusts was able to contribute a $500 grant through our Supporters Club towards the team’s Nationals hoodies. It is a small thing in the scheme of a national tournament, but it meant the players arrived looking and feeling like a team, and had something they could wear proudly all week while representing Titirangi and their local community.
“We are incredibly grateful to The Trusts for supporting grassroots sport and helping make opportunities like this possible for our local players,” the team said. “The team will continue to wear their Nationals hoodies proudly, a lasting reminder of a very special week.”
