Rivercare Group recently took the time to celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, and passion to caring for our local waterways with a picnic lunch. The lunch provided an opportunity to pause and acknowledge the collective effort behind Rivercare’s work.
Rivercare uses hands-on activities such as planting, monitoring, and education to ensure our rivers remain healthy for future generations. With this mahi they are restoring riverbanks, improving water quality, protecting native biodiversity, and building awareness of the value of healthy waterways. Professor George Perry from the University of Auckland’s School of Environment shared a brief talk highlighting the importance of this environmental stewardship and the vital role volunteers play in protecting our natural environment.
We are pleased to be a sponsor of Rivercare and the valuable work they do. We were delighted to contribute to the summer picnic by donating the free loan of our gazebos, providing shelter and a comfortable space for everyone to enjoy the day together.
The picnic was a fitting way to say thank you to Rivercare’s dedicated volunteers and to celebrate the partnerships that help make this important work possible.
