In November 2025, the Waitākere Licensing Trust community gathered to honour Warren Flaunty QSM for an extraordinary 40 years of service as an Elected Member.
The lunch brought together colleagues, friends, and long time supporters to celebrate Warren’s unwavering dedication to the West and his decades of contribution to community wellbeing.
Over four decades, Warren has been a tireless advocate for community development, responsible governance, and ensuring that local benefits stay local. His work has helped shape the identity of West Auckland, strengthening neighbourhoods, supporting grassroots initiatives, and contributing to the vibrant, connected region the West is proud to be.
The event featured tributes from current and former trustees, family members, and organisational leaders. Each reflected on the impact Warren has made, not only through his governance and decision-making, but through the genuine relationships he built along the way. Warren’s influence stretches far beyond formal responsibilities. He is as a trusted colleague, wise counsellor, and loyal friend to many in our community.
Warren’s service leaves a legacy that will continue to benefit the Trust, its community partners, and the wider West Auckland region for generations to come. His dedication stands as an inspiring example of long-term community leadership, creating positive change, strengthening connections, and always striving to make the West a better place to live.
As Warren steps back from official duties, the Trust and the community extend their heartfelt thanks for his decades of commitment. It was a privilege to gather in celebration of a leader whose contribution has shaped so much of what makes West Auckland strong today.
