The Open Arts Day at Corban Estate Arts Centre was a vibrant celebration of creativity, with over 20 artists and arts organisations welcoming the public into their spaces.

Among them was the iconic indigenous dance company Atamira, which has called the estate home for more than a decade.

Atamira activated the Opanuku Studio, creating an unforgettable experience for hundreds of visitors.

Guests were invited to explore TOMO VR, an ātaahua (beautiful) and innovative work that evolved during Covid lockdowns from a traditional live performance into an interactive virtual reality experience.

Visitors also enjoyed projected dance films and had the chance to kōrero (chat) with Atamira’s dancers about contemporary indigenous dance and its significance in Aotearoa’s cultural landscape.

The Trusts are proud to support Atamira and Corban Estate Arts Centre in their arts mahi, with a donation from our Supporters Club from The Hangar.

If your organisation/group has an initiative that could benefit from community funding, or if your team is looking for that extra edge, visit our Supporters Club Donations page to learn more and apply.
