This year’s Halloween was one for the books, with our Spooktacular event bringing together families, volunteers, community groups and local businesses for an event full of fun for the whole community. Thanks to the incredible effort from all of the amazing community groups and food trucks involved, the event attracted thousands of locals who all contributed to the magical atmosphere.

A special shout out has to go to the amazing and dedicated volunteers from Suburbs Rugby Football Club who put together a truly terrifying haunted house! Their enthusiasm and mahi transformed the space into a spine-chilling, immersive experience which was packed throughout the whole event. We also extend a huge thank-you to Jeremy & Linda Marple for their generous support in helping bring the haunted house to life.

The event was made even richer by the presence of some of our fantastic community organisations, Glass Ceiling Arts Collective, Zeal, MPHS, Life Education Trust, New Zealand Police and St John Ambulance who all brought something special to the day showcasing the heart of our local community.

No community event is complete without remarkable kai, and our local vendors What-A-BBQ Smokehouse, Taste of Rwanda, Catch’ya Cookout, Kookie Haus, Dripped Out Strawberries and Phong Nha absolutely delivered.

Beyond the fun and festivities, this year’s Spooktacular delivered an incredible impact. We are proud to share that the event generated $41,584 in benefits for our community. This figure represents the combined efforts of fundraising initiatives, donations, and the economic boost provided to participating local businesses.

We loved seeing the community out in force and embracing the spirit of Halloween with such enthusiasm. A huge thanks to everyone who volunteered, performed, cooked, organised, donated or simply showed up to celebrate. Your support helps us continue to build a strong, vibrant community in The West.

Can’t wait for the next one! 🎃👻
