The Trusts and Waitākeke Stadium Trust celebrate renewed partnership by giving every local primary and intermediate school a $400 credit to use the arena’s facilities, worth a total value of over $30K
The Trusts (Portage and Waitākere Licensing Trusts) have renewed their naming rights sponsorship of The Trusts Arena for another 10 years, committing $1.35 million over the decade.
The Trusts Arena is one of West Auckland’s largest community facilities and is owned by charitable trust, Waitakere City Stadium Trust.
To celebrate, the renewed sponsorship, The Trusts and Waitākere City Stadium Trust are giving every primary and intermediate school in the region a $400 credit to use the arena’s facilities. The donation is worth a total value of over $30,000.
Eligible schools can use their credit to book the indoor courts, function centre or outdoor track and field facilities for up to four hours each. Schools can use the arena facilities for sporting, cultural or prizegiving events.
The Trusts CEO Allan Pollard says this initiative is about strengthening and supporting the community.
“This partnership brings together two organisations that are by the community and for the community and I’m very happy to announce that we will continue our partnership for another decade.
“The Trusts Arena is a vibrant community hub and we want to welcome our young people in, so they can enjoy this special part of West Auckland. Whether it’s coming together for sports training, athletics day, kapa haka, performing arts or prizegiving. We want students, teachers and their parents to get involved and enjoy all the arena has to offer.”
The Trusts were one of the original funding partners when the Arena opened in 2004, and this renewed agreement reinforces its dedication to keeping the venue accessible to the community through to at least 2035.
The Trusts Arena is a unique community asset, hosting more than 500,000 visitors each year, more than half of whom are local. With over 100,000 hours of volunteer time given back to the community, the Arena supports everything from grassroots sports to large-scale cultural and entertainment events.
The Trusts Arena CEO Marcus Reynolds says, “We’re very grateful to continue our partnership with The Trusts and host our local primary and intermediate schools. We’re matching The Trust’s generous donation because we know how important participating in sports and group activities is for the wellbeing of our young people. From rugby to netball, pickleball to rollerskating, if you can play it, we’ve got the perfect space for it.”
The Trusts Arena is a premier multi-purpose venue capable of hosting a broad range of events from conventions, trade shows, music concerts and local, national and international sporting events. It has previously welcomed major international acts including One Direction, Post Malone, Netsky, and Fall Out Boy. Upcoming events include L.A.B & Friends on 31st January 2026 and Five on 31st May 2026.
