Congratulations to our very own James Ulbrick of Te Atātu Liquorland for receiving a Pathways to the Future Award!

Since its inception in 2007 as a collaborative effort between the Rosebank Business Association and the Rotary Club of New Lynn, the Pathways to the Future Trust has been dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in West Auckland. This initiative was established to recognise and reward young employees who demonstrate exceptional leadership, a positive attitude, and a strong aptitude for their roles.

The Pathways to the Future Trust champions the following goals:

  • Inspiring pride in craftsmanship by encouraging excellence and pride in every industry and vocation.
  • Celebrating talent by providing businesses with a platform to recognise employees who embody leadership and drive.
  • Strengthening community bonds by fostering stronger employer-employee relationships and celebrating local achievements that enhance community pride.

Each year, West Auckland businesses are invited to nominate their rising stars for the Pathways to the Future Awards. These awards go beyond recognition — they provide recipients with funding to further their vocational careers, whether through courses, essential tools, or resources.

Awardees are celebrated at a dedicated presentation ceremony, where they receive a trophy and funding support to invest in their professional growth. This funding can help cover the cost of vocational training, textbooks, or tools that aid in their current roles.

The Pathways to the Future Trust’s ultimate goal is to give young professionals the resources they need to excel, enabling them to seize opportunities for advancement within their workplaces. By helping individuals enhance their skills, the program ensures a brighter future for both employees and the businesses they serve.

Over the years, the Pathways to the Future Trust has proudly invested over $200,000 into the futures of more than 100 young professionals across West Auckland. These contributions have not only enriched the lives of the awardees but also strengthened the community by fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Congratulations to all the award recipients for 2024!

If you’re a West Auckland business owner or manager, consider nominating your standout employee for future Pathways to the Future Awards. Together, let’s celebrate the achievements of today’s young leaders and support their journeys toward even greater success!
