On September 18th, the Waitakere Triathlon and Multisport Club hosted a fantastic Social Summit event at The Hangar on Central Park Drive. The night was filled with connection, learning, and inspiration, as our members, friends, and family gathered for an evening to remember.

They had the privilege of hearing from three incredible guest speakers who shared their journeys and insights. Maree Leith from Go Run Girls inspired everyone with her motivational story and practical advice on running and personal growth. Susie Boyd-Brown, a triathlon legend, captivated the audience with her experiences of resilience and achievement. Ben Eitelberg, coach and environmental advocate from Athletes For Nature, highlighted the importance of balancing performance with environmental responsibility—a message that resonated deeply with everyone there.

This event was made possible by a generous donation from ‘The Trusts Supporters Club,’ helping us bring this vision to life. We were thrilled to support two exceptional charitable trusts: The Speed Freaks, which aids athletes in their recovery from addiction and mental distress, and The Lentil Intervention, which focuses on health, environmental, and social causes.

The Hangar was an ideal venue, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the evening even more special. The Social Summit captured the essence of our club: building community, supporting meaningful causes, and celebrating the incredible people we’re lucky to call members.

We look forward to our next event and to continuing to inspire and connect through sport and community!
