Comedy On Point – feat. Justine Smith

Right then, Te Atatu. We’re turning the lights down, the volume up, and handing the room over to some of the sharpest stand-ups currently working in this country (and beyond). Comedy Night at Mr Illingsworth lands Wednesday 15 July, doors for a 7pm start.
Your MC for the evening is Alan McElroy. Irish-born, New Zealand-based, winner of Best MC at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards. He’s built a reputation for sharp crowd work and high-energy hosting, so don’t sit in the front row unless you want to make new friends.
Joining him:
Justine Smith. One of New Zealand’s most respected and acclaimed comedians. Multiple award winner. Razor-sharp stand-up, intelligent storytelling, fearless humour. A genuine treat to have on the Peninsula.
George Rigden. A headliner on the UK and international circuit, with stops across the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, and now us. Whip-smart crowd work, beautifully reckless charm, and some of the best musical comedy you’ll ever hear. Also enjoys speaking in the third person.
Joel Vinsen. Winner of the 2026 Billy T Award and Best Joke at the 2025 NZ Comedy Guild Awards. Dark, absurd, deadpan, and brilliantly unpredictable.
Four comics, one neighbourhood pub, one very good night out.
Tickets $25 + fees via Eventfinda.
Kitchen open, bar open, all the usual Mr Illingsworth comforts. Book a table for dinner beforehand by emailing hello@mrillingsworth.co.nz or giving us a call on 09 953 4377.
