The Trusts To Warmly Farewell Simon Wickham

The Trusts today announced the resignation of CEO Simon Wickham, after nine years in the role.

“Simon has resigned to pursue an opportunity outside of Auckland, which aligns with where his family wants to be based for the longer term. He has given tremendous service to the Trusts and to West Auckland over the last nine years and we would like to express our sincere thanks to him for his excellent leadership and commitment,” said Brian Corban, Chair of West Auckland Trust Services Ltd, the shared services company that operates the retail, hospitality and shared services operations for the Portage and Waitakere Licensing Trusts.

“Simon has lead the business through a period of significant transformation and will be leaving the business in a strong position for the future. Some of his key achievements include implementing a significant transformation of our retail and hospitality businesses, establishing the investment strategy that will enable the Trusts to give back significantly more to West Auckland in future, and leading a major turnaround of our people and culture strategy which has resulted in a significant lift in employee engagement levels,” said Mr Corban.

Mr Wickham’s resignation would take effect in the new year.

Mr Corban said the Board would commence a search for a replacement CEO and will canvass candidates from both within the Trusts and externally.

“Simon has built a very strong team and we are well placed to continue to deliver on our strategic objectives and grow the amount of funds we give back to West Auckland through our successful commercial operations and the profits they generate for West Auckland now and in future,” Mr Corban said.
