The West Auckland Licensing Trusts (The Trusts) has announced the temporary closure of two stores, due to urgent maintenance requirements.
Liquorland New Lynn, Liquorland Railside Ave and the West Auckland Licensing Trusts Support Office (located above Liquorland New Lynn) will be closed over the next few months. The Trusts are exploring alternative options to maintain trading while remedial works are carried out.
"We have unfortunately discovered mould issues at these sites, which were reported to us as part of annual testing," said Allan Pollard, chief executive of the West Auckland Licensing Trusts.
“The health and safety of our staff and customers is our top priority and on receiving the test results we took immediate and precautionary steps to close these premises until the problems can be fully assessed and resolved,” Pollard said.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience to our customers at this busy time of year, but we must put safety first. All staff have been redeployed or are working from alternative premises while we work to resolve things.”
Pollard said he is confident that we will find long-term solutions, and said customers who normally shop at these stores can instead shop at:
- Super Liquor New Lynn, 82A Titirangi Road
- Super Liquor Avondale, 2021 Great North Road
- Super Liquor Valley Road, 45 Henderson Valley Road
- Liquorland WestCity, 7 Catherine Street
Pollard said customers can receive updates on when the stores are due to reopen on The Trusts’ social media channels.
