Head on down to Avondale’s main street this Saturday, 1 July for an unforgettable night of FREE community play in a traffic-less street. Join in the Avondale Night Ride & Street Festival for food, cycling and endless fun from 4 – 7 pm.
Bring your bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, or any non-motorised wheels you adore, to enjoy a leisurely ride at 1975 Great North Rd, Avondale. Loan bikes will also be available. Please come by bike, foot, or bus as part of Great North Rd will be closed.
Organised by Bike Auckland, this festival will see activities and games scattered throughout the street with non-stop entertainment for all ages.
The Trusts will be giving away FREE first aid kits to members of our community.
Planned entertainment includes a laser light show, face painting, live performances, a bike boom box, free food, and hot chocolate. Climb aboard a Trishaw for a relaxing ride around the festival. A Stardome Observatory cosmologist will bring his dome projector to tell the story of the stars of Matariki. Get cool lights to deck your ride station and if your cycle needs a quick tune-up, a bike mechanic will be on hand.
