`Te Henga The Westie´ gets a facelift

0

When Babich became a pioneer of West Auckland nearly 100 years ago, the sole focus was producing wine for the local West Auckland customers. Over the past 30 years, Babich has transformed itself into a major exporter of New Zealand wines around the world, with extensive vineyards in Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay (in addition to the home vineyard, winery and head office in Henderson Valley).

In 2007, with the goal of increasing local sales, Babich returned to its pioneering roots and teamed up with The Trusts to launch the Te Henga The Westie wine range.

Enthusiasm flowed from The Trusts when presented with the opportunity to team up with a renowned local wine producer to create and market a product that would be exclusive to West Auckland and had the potential to become an icon of the West. It did not take long for this vision to be achieved and in 2009 the brand received a Marketing Excellence award at the Westpac Waitakere Business Awards.

Close to 8 years on, Te Henga The Westie is well and truly an established brand out West and continues to be a local favourite through The Trusts retail stores and restaurants.

To celebrate this 8 year milestone the Te Henga The Westie packaging has received a facelift and you will start to see the new label appear on shelves from early 2015.

The new package is a standout and what we love the most about it is the way it came to be – all of The Trusts staff were able to have their say by voting on their preferred design. This ensured the new package not only excites the consumers but also excites The Trusts staff and reinforces the fact that this is The Trusts and West Auckland’s OWN wine brand.

The modern look and high-end feel is quite a change from the original design, however the new package continues to evoke the spirit of freedom and independence of Auckland’s awesome west coast landscape and people – the driving force of what the brand has been built on.

The range includes: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Vintara Red, and Merlot Cabernet at $12.99. The Pinot Noir is $15.99.
